Mixing is a preparation method used in a variety of application areas: from the fodder industry to the food, chemical and pharmaceutical ones. The purpose of this process is to obtain a homogeneous mixture starting from two or more components of various kinds.
The vertical mixers, VP series, are equipment designed for mixing powders with powders and powders with liquid additives. The simultaneous motion of appropriate transmissions allows the mixing shaft to perform two movements: one of rotation on its own axis and one of revolution around the mixing chamber. In this way the agitator, generally consisting of a worm screw, conveys product from the bottom up to the top and creates a horizontal motion flow. Furthermore, the conical shape of the mixing vessel allows to obtain a different speed of movement of the particles in relation to their position with respect to the bottom where the particles move faster.
Similar to the series VP, the series VPS enables the best ratio of overall dimensions/loading volume thanks to their truncated-conical shaped body.
A shaft on which a conical spiral is applied causes mixing movement. The spiral brushes the inner walls of the vessel and conveys product from bottom to the top.
Integral with the same shaft a second central spiral conveys product from the top to the bottom intensifying mixing and favouring necessary times reduction.
The slow movement of the mixing paddle, completely driven from the vessel outside, makes this mixer suitable for treatment of fragile and heat sensitive products.
The VPS model can be also used for treatment of dry product (both in powders and in granules), wet or sticky materials, as well as low or medium viscosity liquids.
